The box around
your jewelry,
built to be kept.

Leader Printing is a jewelry box manufacturer working in paper and board. We make custom jewelry boxes in wrapped rigid board, plus printed cartons, earring hang cards and branded paper pouches and bags. We do not mold velvet or plastic cases. If you want a flocked plastic ring clamshell, we are the wrong factory. If you want a two-piece necklace box, a drawer box with a ribbon pull, or a hang card program for your earring range, we have printed and hand-assembled that work in Fuzhou since 1976.

01 · Why brands pick us

Custom jewelry boxes,
factory direct.

You deal with the factory that prints, wraps and assembles the job. No trading company margin. Our engineers quote from your dieline or build one for you.
F01 / MOQ

Runs sized for indie brands

High minimums are one of the biggest barriers indie jewelry brands report. We hold the line at 500 rigid boxes or 1,000 cartons per SKU, so you can package a first collection without a year of stock.

F02 / Finish

Foil that reads as fine

Gold and silver hot foil, blind deboss, soft-touch lamination and raised spot UV, all run in-house on our box printing lines. A monogram on a lid is a 30-minute foil setup for us, not a special order.

F03 / Pads

Foam and velvet-look pads

Die-cut EVA foam wrapped in flocked paper or microfiber. Ring slots, chain hooks, pendant bridges. The pad holds the piece in place and does the presentation work a molded case would.

F04 / Cards

Hang cards on the same PO

Earring cards from our card printing line: die-cut hang hole, drilled post holes, foil if you want it. Box and card ship in one consolidated order.

F05 / Sets

Magnetic boxes for sets

Magnetic-closure gift boxes sized for necklace and earring sets, with a stepped pad holding each piece. Construction detail in our magnetic closure box guide.

F06 / Proof

Certificates, not claims

Recycled and FSC-certified boards are available, and we show the FSC chain-of-custody certificate on request instead of just printing a leaf on the website.

05 · Constructions

Six builds that
fit jewelry.

Every construction below is wrapped board and printed card. Pick by piece, price point and how the customer opens it.

Two-piece necklace box. Lid and base, 1.5–2.0 mm board, a shallow footprint around 180 to 240 mm wide. The pad is a board platform with a flocked face and two die-cut hooks that hold the chain flat. This is the workhorse of the category and the cheapest rigid build we quote.

Drawer box with ribbon pull. An outer sleeve and a sliding tray with a foam or velvet-look pad. The ribbon pull adds a step to the opening, which is the point. Good for rings, stud sets and pendants. Costs more than a two-piece because it is two boxes glued into one.

Hinged ring box in wrapped board. A board-hinge lid with a magnet holding it shut and a slotted foam pad gripping the ring. It reads like a classic ring box without the injection-molded shell. Honest note: the hinge is paper over board, not a sprung metal hinge, and it opens soft rather than snapping.

Earring hang cards. Printed card, die-cut hang hole or euro slot, drilled post holes placed to your stone spacing. At $0.06 to $0.14 a unit this is the lowest-cost branded format in jewelry, and it merchandises on a spinner rack where boxes cannot.

Magnetic set box and pouch. For multi-piece sets we build magnetic-closure boxes with a stepped pad, one recess per piece. A printed paper pouch or drawstring bag rides inside or over the box for the customer to carry the piece in afterward. Construction options for the magnetic format are in our magnetic box guide; the full rigid process is in the buyer's guide to rigid boxes from China.

06 · Cost drivers

What your box
actually costs.

Jewelry packaging is small, so board cost matters less than labor and finishing. Here is how the quote moves.

Run length decides the print method. Digital wins up to roughly 3,000 units. Offset starts amortizing its plates and setup above roughly 8,000. Between those points it depends on colors and coverage, and we quote both ways. Most jewelry launches sit squarely in digital territory, which is why our small-run prices hold up against suppliers who only run offset.

Assembly is the hidden line item. A rigid jewelry box is wrapped, glued and padded by hand. A drawer box takes roughly twice the bench time of a two-piece. Foil coverage, a second pad layer or an edge-gilded lid each add cents that compound at volume. We itemize these in the quote so you can cut what the customer will not notice.

Sustainable stocks carry a real premium. PCR and other eco boards typically run 10 to 30 percent above virgin equivalents. We say that upfront so it lands in your quote, not in a surprise invoice, and FSC chain-of-custody certificates go out on request with the quotation.

2026 ballpark, ex-works, artwork ready
1,000 earring hang cards≈ $0.06–0.14 / unit
1,000 two-piece rigid necklace boxes≈ $0.85–1.60 / unit
500 drawer boxes with pad≈ $1.90–3.20 / unit
500 magnetic set boxes≈ $2.40–3.90 / unit

Indicative ranges only. Size, board weight, foil coverage and pad type move these numbers. Send your spec through the quotation form or build one in Studio for a firm price in one business day.

Frequently asked
questions.

What is the minimum order quantity for jewelry boxes?

500 units for rigid boxes and 1,000 for folding cartons. Hang cards start at 1,000 pieces. High minimums are one of the biggest barriers indie brands report, so for runs under about 3,000 units we quote digital print, which keeps plates and setup out of the price.

Can you make foam or velvet-look pads for rings and necklaces?

Yes. We die-cut EVA foam pads and wrap them in velvet-look flocked paper or microfiber, with slots for rings, hook points for chains and board bridges for pendants. To be clear about scope: we wrap board and foam. We do not injection-mold plastic clamshell cases.

Do you print hang cards for earrings?

Yes. Offset or digital print on 250 to 400 gsm card, kraft or coated white, with a die-cut hang hole or euro slot and drilled holes for posts and butterfly backs. Foil and spot UV are available on the same card.

How long do samples take?

A free digital proof first, then a physical white dummy in the correct board and construction, then a pre-production sample with print, pad and finishes. Sampling typically takes 5 to 7 days plus courier. Mass production runs 12 to 25 days after sample approval.
