Leader Printing makes the packaging around your candle, not the candle. Folding cartons with die-cut collars that lock the jar, rigid two-piece boxes for gift sets, corrugated shippers with pulp cradles, and jar labels on substrates that survive wax handling. A filled 30cl jar is a heavy, fragile product inside a paper box, and we have been engineering paper around fragile products since 1976.
500 custom candle boxes in rigid board or 1,000 folding cartons per scent. You can launch a three-scent line without warehousing a year of stock.
Die-cut collars lock the jar shoulder and hold the lid, keeping glass off every panel. Pulp cradles do the same job inside shippers. Both are drop-tested with your filled jars.
A filled 30cl glass jar demands 350 gsm and up, or micro-flute walls. Lighter board bulges and lets the jar shift. We spec board on our box printing lines to the weight you ship.
Jar and lid labels in oil-resistant facestocks with lamination, printed on the same label lines as the box. Paper that stains at the pour bench never leaves our sample room.
Carton, jar label, tissue and retail bag from one factory, so stocks and foil match batch for batch instead of drifting across three suppliers.
FSC chain-of-custody and ISO 9001 certificates go out on request with your quotation. PCR stocks are available, priced openly rather than buried in the unit rate.

A filled candle jar concentrates most of the parcel's weight in one piece of glass. When the parcel is dropped, that mass keeps moving until something stops it, and if the something is a box wall, the shock passes straight into the glass. So every construction we build follows two rules. First, the jar never touches the box walls. Second, the neck and lid are stabilized so the jar cannot rock in transit and the lid cannot grind against the board.
Two constructions cover most orders. For single-jar retail cartons we die-cut a locking collar from the carton blank itself: it folds up inside the box, grips the jar shoulder and centers the jar clear of all four walls, with no separate insert part to buy or assemble. For e-commerce shippers we use molded pulp cradles above and below the jar, which suspend it inside the corrugated sleeve and absorb corner drops. In both cases the board has to match the load: the weight of a filled 30cl jar demands 350 gsm and up for carton walls, or micro-flute construction. We drop-test loaded packs with your filled jars before mass production, not after the first damage claim.
Labels face their own abuse: wax residue on hands at the pour bench, warm glass, oils in the fragrance itself. We print jar and lid labels on oil-resistant facestocks with lamination or varnish, covered in detail in our note on label substrates. One layout habit worth adopting early: IFRA-compliant fragrance labeling is your brand's responsibility, and we leave a reserved burn-safety warning panel on the lid or base label at legible size, which is standard practice for candle labels and saves a re-plate later.
Run length decides the print method. Digital wins up to roughly 3,000 units. Offset starts amortizing its plates and setup above roughly 8,000. Between those points it depends on colors and finishes, and we quote both ways. Candle lines rotate scents seasonally, so a carton inventory bought for a better unit price often outlives the scent it was printed for. Short digital runs cost more per unit and less per year.
Sustainable stocks carry a real premium. PCR and bio-based materials typically run 10 to 30 percent above virgin equivalents. We say that upfront so it lands in your quote, not in a surprise invoice. FSC chain-of-custody and ISO 9001 certificates go out on request with your quotation, so the recycled-content claim on your box has paper behind it.
| 2026 ballpark, ex-works, artwork ready | |

| 500 rigid two-piece candle boxes | ≈ $1.60–2.70 / unit |
| 1,000 corrugated single-jar shippers with pulp cradle | ≈ $0.75–1.30 / unit |
| 2,000 jar labels | ≈ $0.05–0.12 / unit |
Indicative ranges only. Jar size, board weight, foil coverage and insert type move these numbers. Send your spec through the quotation form or build one in Studio for a firm price in one business day.
Selling on Etsy or your own store? A printed corrugated shipper with a pulp cradle can be the retail box and the transit pack in one. The unboxing happens in the shipper itself, the jar arrives suspended, and the separate gift carton drops off your bill of materials. For wholesale and shelf placement, keep the retail carton and let a plain shipper carry it. We quote both routes so you can compare landed cost per jar.
Send your jar dimensions, artwork or a reference photo. Our engineers respond within one business day with an insert recommendation and a firm price.
Request a quote500 units for rigid two-piece boxes, 1,000 for folding cartons and corrugated shippers. Jar labels start at 2,000 pieces. For carton runs under about 3,000 units we usually quote digital print, which keeps plates and setup out of the price, so a three-scent launch at 1,000 boxes each stays affordable.
Two rules drive every construction we build: the jar never touches the box walls, and the neck and lid are held so the jar cannot rock. In single-jar cartons a die-cut collar folded from the blank locks the jar shoulder in the center of the box. In corrugated shippers, molded pulp cradles suspend the jar top and bottom. We drop-test loaded packs with your filled jars before mass production.
Yes. Jar and lid labels get oil-resistant facestocks with lamination or varnish, chosen to survive wax residue and warm glass during pouring and handling. Standard paper labels stain and lift under those conditions. We proof your label on the actual substrate so you can wipe it, warm it and test it before committing to a run.
Yes, and it is the main reason candle brands consolidate with us. Boxes, jar labels, lid labels, tissue and retail bags run under one purchase order in the same factory, so stocks, foil color and print match batch for batch. Split across three suppliers, the same artwork drifts in color and finish.
