04 · Choosing a label type

The container
picks the label.

Decoration method is dictated by the shape and material of the pack, not by the artwork.

Pressure-sensitive (self-adhesive) labels are the workhorse — roll-fed onto paper, BOPP, PET or PE faces and applied to flat or gently curved surfaces. Shrink sleeves in PVC, PET-G or OPS conform to compound curves for full 360° decoration and tamper-evident necks. In-mould labels (IML) in PP or PE are fused into the wall of an injection-moulded tub or lid during moulding, so the graphic can never peel — the standard for dairy, paint and household containers.

Face stock and adhesive are specified to the product's life:

  • Cosmetics & spirits — textured, metallic-look or clear ‘no-label-look’ BOPP
  • Chilled & freezer goods — water-resistant faces with cold-temperature adhesive
  • Returnable / recycled packs — wash-off adhesive
  • Glass, PET or HDPE — permanent, removable or repositionable adhesive matched to surface energy
05 · Print, finish & inspection

Combination print,
100% inspected.

We print flexo, offset and digital in combination and inspect every roll before it leaves the floor.

Flexo handles long runs and tactile varnishes, digital handles versioning and short runs, and offset delivers the finest process work — often combined on one job. On top of the print we add cold foil, hot foil, raised tactile varnish, embossing and metallic inks in register.

Every roll passes inline 100% camera inspection for colour, registration, missing labels and barcode grade, then is delivered wound to your applicator's core size, unwind direction and rewind specification. Minimums start around 2,000 pieces per design on a web up to 330 mm, with an 8–18 day production window plus transit.

06 · Artwork & barcode prep

Prepress that keeps
the scanner happy.

Labels carry more production-critical detail per square centimetre than almost anything else we print.

Send artwork with the die shape, 2–3 mm bleed and a safe margin off the cut and any curved-surface distortion for shrink sleeves. Our prepress team sets bar-width reduction on barcodes so ink gain on absorbent stock does not close the bars, holds a lacquer- and varnish-free zone where variable batch and date codes are inkjetted, and traps spot colours and opaque whites for clean registration on clear film.

Regulatory panels — ingredients, dosage, warnings — are checked for legible minimum type size before plates, and we confirm unwind direction and core size against your applicator so finished rolls run straight onto your line without rework.
